The Johnson City Public Library has a courier arrangement with the other libraries of the Northeast Tennessee Library Network.  The entire collection of the network is available for searching online.  Books that are available at other libraries in the network can be requested through the courier service by placing a paging slip request.  Some items are not eligible for loan, and any requests placed on these items will be cancelled.

Some items not available for loan are new books, videos, talking (audio) books, or books that are currently in high demand.  The owning library has the discretion as to whether or not an item is loaned.

To place a paging slip request on a book that appears at a location other than Johnson City Public Library, call or come by the Circulation Desk on the first floor or the Reference Desk on the second floor.  Contact Circulation at 434-4455 or by e-mail at circulation@jcpl.net.  Contact Reference at 434-4454 or by e-mail at phoneroom@jcpl.net

If a book you need is not available in our library or in the Northeast Tennessee Library Network, we can try to obtain the item through Interlibrary Loan.  Interlibrary Loan is a courtesy extended among most libraries in the United States.  While this service is free within the state of Tennessee, libraries in other states may charge ($10.00 minimum) for this service, and we pass this charge along to you.  To request a book by Interlibrary Loan, call or come by the Reference Desk on the second floor.  Our phone number is 434-4353 or you can send us an email at ill@jcpl.net
